The Sanford Area Growth Alliance – Chamber of Commerce recently recognized the 2020 – 2021 Ambassador of the Year. Typically, our ambassadors deliver Chamber member certificates throughout the community, work registrations at annual events and monthly Public Policy Luncheons, and at our morning networking events. Even with this year being so different due to the pandemic, our Ambassador of the Year proved that a pandemic couldn’t stop them from networking.
This year’s winner, David Morse from FBIS Insurance Services, has been a strong asset to the Chamber throughout the year. He is dedicated to our goals, and improves awareness of Chamber benefits and activities.
This year, the Ambassadors held a Google Review Challenge in order to receive feedback from our Chamber members, and Morse reached out to more members than any other Ambassador.
He also hand delivered information from our Education and Workforce Development Committee to construction and skilled-trades employers regarding the availability of trained workers coming through our public schools and Community College System.
Morse also consistently attended our virtual meetings and networking events, and attended our first back-in-person Ribbon Cutting just last month.
The Chamber Ambassador Program consists of enthusiastic volunteers from the Chamber membership who donate their time to help build member commitment, and raise community awareness of Chamber activities and benefits. In doing so, the Ambassadors grow professionally and personally by building business relationships within the community.
The program is ideal for people who have a desire to become more active in the local business environment, raise awareness of their business or organization, and give back to their community.
Now it’s time for a new team of ambassadors to get started for the 2021-2022 year, with Morse taking the helm as Ambassador Chair. Last week’s ambassador orientation proved that we will have another successful year with an enthusiastic group of volunteers!
