By Meg Moss, Chamber of Commerce Executive Director
I’m excited to share with you some of the various ways that businesses can engage with our Chamber of Commerce, and make the most out of their membership.
Networking – Each month, the Chamber hosts an AM Buzz morning networking event. This informal event provides business and community leaders the opportunity to meet new people, and make new connections. There are also opportunities to make announcements about your business or organization. Also, we host a monthly Public Policy lunch, which is designed to inform and education you of things going on in the community. This involves announcements from elected officials and community leaders, as well as a presentation on a current local topic. This event provides another opportunity to network and make contacts. We encourage attendees to follow up with your new found connections in order to go from casual networking, to creating a real customer or client….a more meaningful relationship.
Sponsor events – Chamber members can sponsor events such as those listed above, to sponsoring signature events like the Chamber Banquet, the Children’s Business Fair, or the Chamber Clays Championship. Sponsorships both show support for the Chamber, and they are a form of marketing. From logo recognition, to quick videos, we can get you the visibility you are looking for. Reach out to our office, and we can find a marketing opportunity for you! There are affordable options for everyone.
Committee participation – The Chamber of Commerce has the Education and Workforce Development Committee, the Business and Community Advancement Committee, Marketing Committee and Membership Committee. Through participation in these committees, you will meet new people and potential business prospects, all while helping the Chamber meet our mission of expanding and diversifying our friendly business community.
Special promotions and activities – This is another advantage of Chamber membership. Chamber members are able to provide promotional materials for the new teachers in our community, or participate in Small Business Saturday, for example. Members may also participate in Leadership Sanford, a program that has been going strong for over twenty years.
Please reach out to me for information on any of these ways to better engage with the Chamber and make the most of your membership. I can be reached at 919-775-7341 x 1502 or email@example.com.
