“At Home, With Love”, a virtual Valentine’s Day campaign kicked off last Friday, January 29th and is running through February 13th. The Sanford Tourism Development Authority (Visit Sanford) and Downtown Sanford, Inc have joined forces to promote Valentine’s style events to both residents and visitors.
Wendy Bryan, Visit Sanford Executive Director says “Visit Sanford always wants to encourage visitors to enjoy our restaurants and shops, but we know this year is a little diff with the COVD restrictions. So, we partnered with DSI to encourage residents and visitors alike to plan to Valentine’s Day by using take-out and delivery services offered by several of our local restaurants and merchants. Sanford has so much to offer. From a family donut breakfast to take out steak dinners, beer and chocolate delivery, flower delivery and gift selections. All the offerings for the At Home, With Love campaign will be available on the Visit Sanford and DSI social media sites.”
There’s no better place to shop for your Valentine then Paisleys and Petals, Ted’s Flower Basket, or Floral Designs by Eddie. It’s great to have options. In a recent Visit Sanford Facebook video, Eddie Baker suggests ordering early, and for the most flowers for your money, request a mixed floral arrangement.
As a part of the At Home, With Love campaign, Hugger Mugger Brewing Company and The Chocolate Cellar have teamed up to offer growler and chocolate delivery. This sounds like it may be a perfect combination. Hint-hint!
Finally, Visit Sanford and DSI remind us to head over to Kiwanis Family Park to place your love lock on the Love Lock art installation. While you are there, you can enjoy a stroll, and lunch under the pavilion.
In other Valentine’s Day news, the Stevens Center will hold its annual Prime Rib Dinner on Saturday, February 13th. It will look a little different this year, with a take-out option only. But don’t let that stop you from having a delicious prime rib or chicken dinner, all while supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. Tickets are $35 per plate and can be purchased at stevenscenter.org. Only 100 plates will be sold.
Want even more Valentine’s Day fun? Don’t miss Can’t Help Falling in Love: A Valentine Cabaret, at Temple Theatre in downtown Sanford. It is an evening of music celebrating many types of love, friendship, camaraderie, community, coming together, young love, and romance. Bring your special Valentine, friends, and family to enjoy Temple Theatre’s Temple Teen Ensemble and local professionals as they entertain with an evening of music about life and all forms of love. Tickets can be purchased at templeshows.com. Some of Temple’s favorites will perform, such as Hailey Best, Gavan Pamer, Andrew Wade and the infamous Peggy Taphorn.
Just because we may be at home this Valentine’s Day, it doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of ways to celebrate. And this year may be the best time ever to show folks you love them.
