The Sanford Area Growth Alliance (SAGA) announced today that Bobby Tomlinson, drummer and co-founder of the famous band The Embers, is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award that will presented at the Chamber Annual Membership Banquet on February 16th at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center.

“Bobby Tomlinson was selected by the Small Business Banquet committee for his lifetime of dedication to music,” said Meg Moss, SAGA - Chamber Executive Director. “This committee had been led by the late Richard Feindel. About Bobby Tomlinson

Bobby Tomlinson bought his first drum set after his family moved to Raleigh and he never put down the sticks after that. That’s not too surprising. Bobby started paying attention to music as a kid in Goldsboro, North Carolina. The Clovers, The Spiders, Wynonna Harris, Billy Ward & The Dominoes were the artists that caught his ear. It would be the music that shaped his career.
