The Sanford Area Growth Alliance (SAGA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Meg Moss as the new Chamber of Commerce Executive Director. SAGA recognizes Moss as an experienced leader with an entrepreneurial spirit.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work for the Chamber of Commerce, and to be the voice for business in the community,” said Moss. “Bringing people and businesses together is my passion, and my desire as the Chamber of Commerce Executive Director is to connect businesses with each other so that everyone can be successful.”

She has been part of the Lee County business community for many years, participating in the 2006 Leadership Sanford class, and volunteering as a Chamber Ambassador. In 2012, Moss was given the Sanford Area Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Advocate of the Year award. She was previously the Executive Director for Lee County Industries (LCI) for six-plus years, during which, LCI placed more than 180 people with disabilities into competitive jobs.

“[Moss] will be an asset to this organization,” said Bob Joyce, Economic Development Executive Director. “We recognize that and believe that she is going to really connect with the business people in our community.”

“We are pleased to have [Moss] join our team,” said Joy Thrash, Interim CEO for the Sanford Area Growth Alliance. “She has volunteered with the Chamber for many years and we are excited to have her working with us to move the Chamber-Growth Alliance forward.”

Moss will be leaving her position as a hospice care consultant with Community Home Care and Hospice in Lee County in the coming weeks and will begin working at SAGA beginning Monday, August 17th. You can contact her at
