Chamber Chat - Member Benefits

The Sanford Area Growth Alliance Chamber of Commerce has many ways to be engaged in the organization throughout the year via various programs and activities. The Ambassador program is just one tool we utilize to help engage our members. The Ambassador program consists of enthusiastic volunteers from the Chamber membership who donate their time to help build member commitment and raise community awareness of Chamber activities and benefits. In doing so, the Ambassadors grow professionally and personally by building business relationships within the community. We’re proud to say that we currently have 20 professionals donating their time to the Chamber to help facilitate member engagement. And soon, each Chamber member will be receiving a visit from an Ambassador to not only receive a small gift, but to have an opportunity to provide feedback about Chamber activities and functions.
 

A new program this year is called “A Day in the Life of a Chamber Member”. This program brings social media exposure to one member per month via Facebook Live. I have the opportunity to visit Chamber members at their place of business, interview the business owner or manager, and in some cases, take a tour of their location. So far this year, we have gone live on Facebook at Lee Brick and Tile, Southern Carpet and Interiors, Common Thread, Gross Farms, and just this week, we interviewed Jimmy Holder at Bowen Insurance.
 

The “Membership Matters” program recognizes twenty-seven dedicated Chamber members throughout the year by rewarding those who attend Chamber events. Members are chosen at random from those who have attended events such as AM Buzz, Public Policy Lunches, or Business After-Hours. They get surprise visits from our Ambassadors thanking them for their commitment to the Chamber, receive a small gift for their office, and get some social media exposure on the Sanford Area Chamber of Commerce Facebook page. This week, our Ambassadors visited Steven’s Center, Central Carolina Community College’s Career Center, and Sagebrush.
 

The member to member discount program allows for Chamber members to offer discounts and deals that are exclusive to other members, bringing additional exposure and business opportunities.
 

Building business relationships, social media exposure, recognition by Chamber Ambassadors, and discounts. These are just a few of the benefits that businesses can take advantage of when they are Chamber members. We’re proud to say we have already reached our 2017 goal of having 570 members of the Sanford Area Growth Alliance Chamber of Commerce. But now we continue to move forward, and to expand our reach in the business community so that we can all succeed together.
