Timothy Sloan
Lee County Comissioner

As a multi-generational Lee county resident, I was unaware of how much information I had never been exposed to until attending the Leadership Sanford. By participating in the Leadership Sanford (hosted by the Sanford Area Chamber of Commerce), I have been afforded opportunities that I would have never pursued without participating in this program… which in many ways prepared me for additional leadership opportunities in public service. I would highly recommend this as a development opportunity for any local citizen that wishes to give back to their community.

Jerry Pedley
Owner of Mertek Solutions, Inc.

I was asked to join the Chamber Board to give back to the community, and since then good things have come back to me. Prior to that the community helps in so many ways. Our school systems and the Community College have since 1990 provided us with great resources for employee base and training. In 1996 I was awarded the “Small Business Person” award and to this day the community gives so much back to Mertek. As a person who has a business or who is in Sales networking is a great opportunity. Everyone sells in a company and has opportunities to provide support. I see every meeting, every plane ride, every motel stay, every phone call, every restaurant meal, and every connection as a opportunity to promote and sell for the company.

Daniel Simmons
CEO for the Boys and Girls Club of Sanford/Lee County

In my current role as CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs, it is very important for me to know and be known by area business leaders, government officials, and fellow not-for-profit leaders. Opportunities like Chamber Ambassadors and Leadership Sanford, along with events like AM Buzz and Business After Hours, have afforded me numerous opportunities to "break the ice" and build relationships people, and market/promote my organization.

Sam Sillaman
Owner of All Digital Printing & Documentation Services

“We opened our business in 1986 and soon after joined the Chamber. Over the last 30 years the Chamber has absolutely been an asset to helping our business grow.  I can’t say exactly what it is but I know for certain our success today is in part due to the great work the Chamber does behind the scenes and in the public's eye."

Jared Spencer
State Farm Insurance Agent

"My membership in the Sanford Chamber has provided my business with a level of exposure throughout the community I would not have been able to achieve using many other advertising and marketing options."

Steven Ashmore
Owner of Portraits by Steven

Since joining the Sanford Area Chamber of Commerce I have met community leaders, wonderful people and new friends who care deeply about Sanford.
